Founded in 1949 as United Cerebral Palsy Association of Metropolitan Detroit, UCP Detroit is one of over 100 independent, state and local non-profit affiliates and is the leading source of information on cerebral palsy and a leading advocate for the rights of all people with disabilities.

Every day UCP Detroit assists people with disabilities and their families to access much-needed services, supports and resources that help to make "Life without Limits" not just a dream, but a reality. More than 65% of the people served by UCP Detroit have a disability other than Cerebral Palsy. These include disabilities such as autism, spinal cord injuries, learning disabilities, visual impairments and any other disabling condition.
